Presidents Message
Hey Ladies! Happy Summer! Its finally getting hot, Yay for some of you, personally I'm already missing the rain!
Last month we had a awesome Zoom meeting and it was great to see your smiling faces! I didn't realize how much I missed you guys! After that meeting I was brighter for a week!
First things first, we got a new member YAY! Her name is Samantha Dueringer she works at Culver Glass, when you see her make sure you give her a huge welcome! Glad to have you Samantha!
Next thing I'm sad to say, our Fall Conference in Eugene has been cancelled. Unfortunately the National Conference in Houston has been cancelled as well. I was really looking forward to these events, but they are going to be doing something virtually, so stay tuned!
Finally! We are having an in person NAWIC meeting WOOO HOOOO! July's meeting is gonna be at Jeanne Staton's home, outdoor and socially distancing! We will have a speaker from Bring Recycling to discuss their Construction Materials Recovery and Reuse Program.
Reminder, September 11th is our golf tournament! The flyer is ready and should be sent out soon! Lets get those teams and sponsorships! -Kay Ewalt
Member Retirement
Our longtime member Diana Corbin is retiring! She will be moving to the Puget Sound, joined soon by her Grand-daughter-in-law, grand babies, and Navy Grandson Scott when he gets back home. Her new, huge garden will be keeping her busy, along with all her fun gramma duties!
Her Drive-by retirement party was on June 17th. The Chapter gave her a gift card and Cory & Kay made her a "nuts & bolts" wind chime, complete with a plumb-bob that had NAWIC welded onto it!
Diana has been our President 3 times! Our Future Leader in 1997, our Member of the Year twice and our Lifetime Achievement winner 3 times!! We will surely miss her and her knowledge, her other side of the story, friendship and her sense of humor!!❤️❤️
